Some New (NWNCQ) Screenshots

Although I hadn’t originally planned to use NWNCQ or any of the original Bioware tilesets in Sanctum 3, I finally decided that I did have some areas that I needed them for. After some work on them I have to say that I’m very pleased with the result. Here are a couple of screenshots to show why. 🙂

  1. The new website looks great, and I’m loving the atmosphere produced by NWNCQ very much.

So Highpeak is the city in Rayche, correct? That will be where most of SOA3 takes place, no?

  2. Bruno, Aderyn, thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you’re liking it.

Highpeak is the capital city of Rayche, and it’s built around the seat of King Harold’s throne in Highpeak Castle. It lies in a valley amidst the southern peaks of the Nurian mountains along the shore of High Lake. High Lake is the source of the Tiberan River, which runs through Southern Rayche to the ocean.

Although Highpeak is very much the module’s central location, the adventure will actually span most of southern Rayche. Aided by the Pegasi and Queen Talina’s cloak, the player’s quest will take them from the mountains of the north to the ocean islands of the south; and from the forests of the east to the heathlands of the west. Here’s a rough map to get a better idea. 🙂

  3. That means I’ll get to see the pegasi a lot in SOA3. Yay!

Also, it’ll be awesome for the PC to finally get to see a full-on city action in SOA saga, since he/she was has always lived in the forest. So I imagine there’d be a lot of different reaction for different PC. Lots of potential for excitement, oh boy! Just imagine the bustles and the bargains to be had! (My pc is a shopoholic, so she will probably waste most of her hard-earned saving there.)

    Thanks for the update!

  4. Aderyn: Yep, the Pegasi play a very large role in Sanctum 3. That’s one of the reasons I spent so much time getting them working in Sanctum 2. Combining them with a fabulous new tileset by Estelindis is allowing me to design some extraordinary scenes, such as the “Flying into the Sunset” image I posted to my old blog. I should have some new video clips and screenshots to post soon to elaborate.

It’s funny you should mention shopping, because I actually have what I think is another very innovative idea that I’m working on for that. Unfortunately I can’t say more without spoiling it, but I think that players will find shopping in Rayche to be quite a unique experience. 😉

    1. Glad to hear it! I’m so looking forward to a shopping spree in High Peak!

Also, is it just me, or the Robin in the screenshot really has black hair? She IS Robin, right? Or is she one of the temporary henchperson in this mod?
